Frequently Asked Questions...
I need some help on understanding how Helios 44-2 work...?
I want to buy a Helios 44-2 lens (preferably a 58mm) but I...don't really know anything about them. I have a Nikon D90 and a Pentax K1000 and was wondering if I would have to buy two completely different lenses for them because one is digital and one is for film.
And if I were to buy this lens for my Nikon D90, how would I go about putting the lens on my camera? I think I read somewhere something about having to get an adapter but, like I said, I know absolutely nothing about it.
I basically just need to know what I need to get for the lens to fit on my Nikon D90 and Pentax K1000.
Answer:
Your Nikon has a Nikon F mount and your Pentax has a Pentax K mount, one lens won't fit both cameras.
The other problem you have with Nikon is they have the longest sensor to mount distance so the Helios lens won't focus to infinity if you get a Pentax K version and use an adapter. I don't think the Helios 44mm f2 is available in Nikon F mount, could be wrong.
The Helios is a 44mm focal length f2 lens, the 58mm is the filter thread size. Helios lenses are not renown for their quality.
