How do you get the AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor f/4-5.6G ED lens to work on the Nikon D60?
I have the Nikon D60 and the AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor f/4-5.6G ED lens. I can't seem to get the lens to work. I mount it, but it says, "lens not attached'. If put the camera in manual mode, that message goes away, but i can't change the aperture or take a picture that's not totally black. The flash doesn't seem to be popping up either. Please help. The two are certainly compatible, so there's a problem with one or the other. Apparently the camera does not realize the lens is attached... For starters try cleaning the lens and camera electronic contacts with a bit of rubbing alcohol (make sure none gets inside the camera or anywhere other than contacts)... If that doesn't help... Call Nikon support line. They're there 24/7.

P.S. I just thought I'd state the obvious, just in case you're not mounting it correctly. To mount the lens properly:
Find the little white dot on the camera body at about 2 O'clock position if you're looking straight at it, then find similar dot on the lens and put the lens into the camera so that the dots match up. Then twist it about 1/4 turn until it clicks....
