Nikon D90 DSLR camera comes with very advanced technical features and functions, which can be compared with those of professional digital cameras. The price, starting with $800, is very good, considering the quality of the item you purchase. Nikon D90 comes with a 12,3-megapixel CMOS sensor and a very wide ISO range, up to 6400. You can enjoy a lot of interesting, useful functions, such as the dust removal system, a very good auto focus system with 3D tracking ad face detection, HD movie mode, continuous shooting of 4,5 frames per second and the correction of chromatic aberration. A very nice tool installed on the Nikon D90 is Image Sensor Cleaner, which gives you access to sharp, deep images.
The Picture Control menu has some presets: standard, neutral, vivid, monochrome, landscape and portrait. Also, you can set and store yourself nine custom Picture controls. The Nikon D90 operates red-eye reduction, and has trimming, distortion control, color balance and quick retouch functions. Thanks to light control functions, the camera performs very well even during low-light conditions. The 3 inch LCD display has very good performances on any type of light, even bright light, allowing you to frame your pictures perfectly every time. The viewfinder, on he other hand, is a little uncomfortable to use, since it has only 96% coverage. Picture Control menu is very much improved, if we compare it with previous models. You have some basic pre-set settings and the possibility to save your own customized picture settings.
The movie mode is a big step ahead for Nikon D90, and accessing the recording function is very simple indeed. You have to press a dedicated Live View button, select the settings you want to use and then press the OK button to start recording high-definition movies. And the best part is that the Nikon D90 records the movies as motion JPG files, very easy to edit, even for simple, home based movie editing software. Nikon D90 digital camera is a good acquisition for the consumers who want to give up their basic point-and -shoot camera and to try something a little more advanced.
